13 killed in Kogi varsity as Police commissioner said only 3 died in cultists group clash.
No fewer than 13 persons have been killed at the Kogi State University, Anyigba, following clashes among suspected cult groups. The killings which began on Friday, was allegedly due to the killing of a student of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, suspected to be a kingpin of a cult group. Three of the victim were hacked down around the Stadium Road and Fatima Lodge within the KSU campus while nine others were killed at different locations in the university environs.
Among those killed were; one Oloruntoba Godwin, a 300-level student of Geography, and one Ajileye Richard, who is a 200-level student in the department of Accountancy. Some of the students injured following the incident were rushed to the hospital. When contacted, the commissioner of police in the state, Hakeem Busari, confirmed the incident, but said only three students were killed.
