EMIR OF ILORIN TURBANS MUSTAPHA AS TURAKI OF LLORIN EMIRATE

  The Emir of Ilorin,   Alhaji lbrahim Sulu-Gambari, on Friday turbaned a business morgul and Philanthropist, Mallam Salihu Mustapha, as the new Turaki of the Ilorin emirate. The event which took place at the palace of the Emir was witnessed by eminent personalities from all walks of life. The Chief Imam of Ilorin, Alhaji Mohammed Bashir before the turbaning, said Mallam Salihu Mustapha merited the position of the Turaki of Ilorin in view of his invaluable contributions to the upliftment of the less privileged in the society. He advised the new Turaki to further intensify effort towards the development of the Ilorin emirate. He prayed God to give long life, sound health and wisdom to the new Turaki to accomplish challenges ahead. The Emir later decorated the new Turaki of the Ilorin emirate with a turban. OBOBANYI: Sen. Oseni Obobanyi Ohionwa, Seeks Inclusion Of Traditional Rulers’ Roles In Constitution

 As Ohionwa clan in Ihima installed new Obobanyi of Ohionwa, the Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Yakubu Oseni has called for inclusion of traditional rulers’ roles in the constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria. Senator Oseni made the call on Saturday in Oboroke-Ihima at the palace of the Obobanyi of Ohionwa, His Royal Highness, Dr Ahmed Jimoh Eneji who has just been coronated as the 13th Obobanyi of the clan. HOPE RESTORED: Barr Ladi Pays WAEC, NECO Fees For Orphans In Okene

 The Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Multilateral and Donor Agencies, Barr. Ladi Ahmed Jatto has donated cash to pay WAEC and NECO examination fees for students of Ideal Orphanage Nursery/Primary and Secondary School in Agassa, Okene local government. The donations was made in Okene on Friday through Barr. Jatto’s NGO, Global Green Pillars Initiative. Barr. Jatto, who is the Project Coordinator of the Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP) in Kogi State, also donated school uniforms and writing materials to the students. Presenting the cash donation to the management of the school, Hajia Ahmed Nana Ozioma, commended the founders and managers of the school for their efforts towards uplifting the lives of children of the less privileged, especially the orphans.  Dr. Idris Omede a former Commissioner for Health in Kogi State, has called on government at all levels to protect live and property of citizens through provision of basic health care facilities and services. Omede, a former President, Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), made the call in Yola, Adamawa State on Friday after he was vaccinated using the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, manufactured by the Serum Institute of India and provided through the global COVAX initiative. He stressed the need for government at all levels to make the prevention and protection against the current global pandemic a top priority. PRESIDENT BUHARI APPOINTS NEW SERVICE CHIEFS President Muhammadu Buhari has accepted the immediate resignation of the Service Chiefs, and their retirement from service. Those involved are the Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Olonisakin; Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Ekwe Ibas; and Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar.   The chairman of Ebira Peoples Association (EPA), Kaduna chapter, Malam Idris Otohinoyi Usman, has assured that a new Odeyani of Anebira would emerge in the first quarter of   2021 OHIKU TV gathered     that the 18-man committee headed by the vice- chairman of the association, Malam Abdul Jatto, was asked to come up with a mode of selecting a new Odeyaniof Anebira in Kaduna, the report was submitted to the executive during the general meeting held on November 1, 2020. Kogi council election: IPAC urges aspirants to resign before primary

  The Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Kogi State Chapter, has called on all aspirants preparing for the forthcoming council election to resign their positions in various areas of employment a month before the party primary. It said this was in line with Election Rules and Regulations as contained in the amended Electoral Act. The state IPAC chairman, Illiyas Badanga, made this known in a media statement issued in Lokoja. “IPAC is encouraging all political parties to follow due process as stipulated before and after the election. Election timetables have been distributed to all stakeholders for full details of the election. “Political parties are enjoined to field candidates that has competence, capacity and character to deliver dividends of democracy to the third tire of government,” the statement said.
